Terms of Service

Visual Budget is a free open-source tool available for download from our GitHub repository, distributed under the Apache 2 license.

However, we understand that not every city and town has staff available to download and install Visual Budget. To enable all cities and towns to use Visual Budget easily, VisGov is providing a setup and installation “starter kit” as a service at an affordable price. Our team of consultants has deep experience with both web technologies and municipal finance – and we’re really nice people to work with.

Starter Kit

For the city or town (or non-governmental organization) in eastern Massachusetts

$3,000

 To help you get started, we offer our “Starter Kit”, which includes:

  • Registration of your own domain, typically yourtown.visgov.com
  • Deployment of your site, branded for your city or town
  • 8 hours of assistance preparing your data, which is often enough to finish and launch the site from scratch
  • Hosting for two years on our servers
  • Updates and maintenance for two years

If you’d like to engage our services ala carte, we offer the following:

  • Hosting – $300/year
  • Domain registration – $25/year
  • Data preparation – $100/hour
